Overview dashboard

What it's for

The Overview page is your landing page after sign-in: the whole fleet at a glance. If something needs your attention — a pending device, a license about to expire — this is where it shows first.

How to use it

The stats row counts your fleet: total clients, active, pending, currently online, active VPN tunnels, and customers. The numbers are links — clicking Pending takes you straight to the devices waiting for activation.

Client versions shows which client versions your fleet is running per OS — useful right after publishing a release to watch the rollout spread (see Releases & auto-update).

The License card shows your installation's license: type (Community, Trial, or licensed), licensee, days until expiry, and when the license server was last reached. The key itself is set as the VALENIUS_LICENSE_KEY environment variable in your deployment — see Backend — Pro edition.

Traffic charts Pro show fleet-wide VPN traffic with selectable time windows. They refresh on their own — no need to reload the page. See Traffic dashboard.

Pitfalls

  • "Online" means "heard from within the last few minutes." A client that just lost power still shows online until its silence exceeds the heartbeat window (about 7 minutes by default).
  • After a backend restart, everything briefly shows offline. Online state lives in memory; clients reappear on their next check-in within a few minutes. Nothing is wrong.
  • Traffic charts are empty on Community — they need the integrated WireGuard® server's counters.
