Traffic dashboard Pro

What it's for

See how much VPN traffic flows — per client, per customer, and fleet-wide — as download/upload charts. Useful for spotting unusual volumes, checking whether a line is saturated, and answering "was this device even used?"

The data comes from the integrated WireGuard® server, so it exists for customers in Valenius server mode only.

How to use it

Where: the client's Details page (that device), the customer's page (all its clients), and the Overview (whole fleet).

Time frames: each chart switches between 1 h, 4 h, 8 h, 24 h, 3 days, and 7 days. Charts refresh themselves every minute — leave the page open and watch live.

Reading the chart: two series — the client's download and upload, as seen by the VPN server. Totals for the selected frame are shown alongside.

Retention: samples are kept for 90 days by default — adjustable under Admin → Settings → Traffic data retention.

Pitfalls

  • Empty charts on Community or external-mode customers are normal — there's no integrated server to measure at.
  • Counting starts when sampling starts. Traffic from before the feature was active (or before a client's first sample) isn't reconstructed; "lifetime" totals mean "since measuring began."
  • Sampling is every few minutes — a short spike appears smoothed over its interval rather than as a sharp peak. The trend is accurate; exact per-second rates are not the tool's job.
  • Only VPN traffic is counted — traffic the device sends outside the tunnel never touches the VPN server and can't appear here.
